of the primary purposes of Christian discipleship is to emulate the
character of Christ.1 Peter 2:21 says, "To this you were called,
because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you
should follow in his steps."
In
Philippians 1:9, Paul said, "And this is my prayer: that your love may
abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight."
