Qualifications
Any person who confesses faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has the
assurance of salvation, and whose character, conduct, and reputation
are in accord with the confession of faith, who accepts the
Constitution and By-Laws of this Church, and who is willing to support
the Church by his/her prayers, contributions, and attendance, qualifies
to become a member.
Admission
Application for membership to the Church shall be made to the Pastor.
All applicants must attend a membership class. This gives them a time
to study and learn about salvation, assurance, doctrine, and church
responsibility.
All applicants who have met the membership requirements shall be
received into the church, publicly, and any of the services of the
church.
Any member, not already baptized, will be baptized at the next
available baptism service.
Conduct
The following conduct is expected from each member:
Regular attendance at the services of the Church. (Hebrews 10:25)
Daily reading in the Bible (Joshua 1:8)
Private and family devotions (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)
Personal and public testimony (II Peter 3:15)
Winning others to Christ (Acts 1:8)
It shall be the sacred duty of parents to provide Christian instruction
for their children (Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6)
Each member shall consider it his sacred duty and privilege to make
full use of his time and talents for the Lord’s service
whenever
the opportunity affords (Romans 12:3-8).
All members are encouraged to remember each other in prayer (Ephesians
6:18), to aid each other in sickness and distress (James 5:15-16), and
to be courteous in speech (Colossians 4:6) and slow to anger (Ephesians
4:29-32).
All members are encourages to support the Church through tithes and
offerings according to the principles laid down in I Corinthians 16:2,
Malachi 3:10, and II Corinthians 8 and 9.
All members are called upon to heed the Scriptural admonitions:
“Do not love the world or the things of the world”
(I John
2:15) and “Do not become conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewal of your mind that you may prove what is the
good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
Be an
“example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in
purity.” (I Timothy 4:12) and to “Abstain from any
act or
practice which may be harmful in its influence or a stumbling block to
the weak.”
